Baldy Fire Department is one of the only all volunteer, non paid, non tax supported Fire Departments in Southern California. Annually the Community club with the support of the firefighters put on the run 2 the top. The firefighters provide medical aide to race participants. Some of the money raised is used to pay for equipment, training and supplies. Mt. Baldy is a small community in the Angeles National Forest less than 50 miles from Los Angeles. The department has 20 firefighters, 7 of whom are EMT's (emergency medical technicians) and 8 who also serve on the mountain search and rescue team. Visitors to the forest are often aided, rescued or saved by these volunteers. You've seen us on the television news, why not help out with a tax deductible donation or come to the annual steak fry.
